Members
of Taskers Chance:
Jeanean Songco Martin is a multi-talented musician who provides
shimmering melodies on hammered dulcimer, solid support on
guitar and vocal harmony. She has been involved in performing and
teaching music for the past 30 years and currently specializes in
Irish, Old-time and 18th century music. She performs regularly
with several bands at Mount
Vernon as well as at local festivals including Washington Folk
Festival, Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, Common Ground on the Hill
and
Potomac Celtic Festival.Becky Ross is a classically-trained fiddler who provides delightful counter-melodies
and rich harmonies to the group. She has been focussing on folk
music for over ten years and also performs regularly with several
Celtic
groups at local festivals including Anne Arundel Scottish Games,
Virginia Scottish Games and Southern Maryland Celtic Festival. She is a
Board Member of Potomac
Valley Scottish Fiddle Club, a D.C.-based group promoting Scottish
fiddle music. She also plays regularly for Scottish and English country
dancing.Deborah Colvin-Brower is multi-talented musician with a keen interest in history and provides
strong rhythm with guitar, bodhran and bones as well as lead
vocals on heartfelt ballads and stirring songs. She is a regular
performer of Irish
traditional music and
teacher of bodhran and bones throughout the Eastern U.S. including
Augusta Heritage Workshops, The Kennedy Center, various Irish Festivals
and Baltimore Irish Arts. She performs frequently at Mount Vernon
and has participated in Civil War
re-enactments and the Smithsonian 1876 Centennial Exhibit. |
